RemoteAccessApp lets you reach the PCs and servers you own - and help the people you look after - without giving up your privacy, without surprise bills, and without anyone connecting behind your back.
It's a free remote desktop and remote support app for Windows 10 and 11, made by Rust Games Australia Pty Ltd, an Australian company (ABN 64 683 623 065). One app covers helping someone with their PC, reaching your own PCs when nobody's there, opening them from a browser or phone and managing servers over SSH.
Why we built RemoteAccessApp
RemoteAccessApp started with frustration. We relied on the big-name remote desktop tools to look after our own PCs and to help family and friends - and kept running into the same walls.
So we built the tool we wanted: one that respects the person at the other PC, keeps working, and charges a fair, simple price - with a free plan you can actually use, at home or at work. The longer story, with what we decided the app had to do, is in our post on why we built RemoteAccessApp.

What we ran into
- Sessions that cut out after a while, right in the middle of fixing something.
- Being told our use looked "commercial" - then asked for large fees, paid a year up front.
- An outage on their side that left us unable to reach any of our own PCs.
What we believe
Privacy comes first
The person at a PC always knows: it asks them to allow each session unless they turned unattended access on, shows nothing until they do, and keeps a banner up while anyone is connected. Sessions from the app are end-to-end encrypted, and we don't record them. How it's secured
You control what you own
Unattended access can only be switched on at the PC itself. You can turn remote control off, remove a PC or delete your account whenever you like. We don't sell your data or run ads.
Fair, simple pricing
The free plan is for personal and commercial use alike. Pro is US$4.99 / month: cancel anytime, no year-up-front contracts and no "we think you're a business" surprises.
No session timers
A session stays open for as long as you need it. If a connection drops - a phone switching apps, a flaky network - RemoteAccessApp reconnects on its own.
Keeps working
PCs set up for local-network access keep connecting directly even if our servers have a bad day, and our status page tells you what's going on.
Help when it's needed
Chat with the person at the PC, send files, run a fix from the command line, or let an AI assistant help - always with the person there in the loop.
