Switch from Termius

Switch from Termius: free sync, plus RDP, VNC and your PCs

Termius keeps sync for its paid plans, leaves serial off its free plan, and its plans don't list RDP or VNC at all.

It gives you SSH tabs, SFTP and FTP file managers, scripts on many servers, saved RDP and VNC connections and remote desktop to your Windows PCs, with your SSH hosts in a browser terminal on any device.

  • Host list syncs free
  • RDP, VNC and remote desktop
  • SSH in any browser

Fed up with Termius? Here's what changes

  • Sync costs extra

With Termius: Termius's free Starter plan has a local vault; syncing across devices is on its paid plans.

With RemoteAccessApp: Your host list syncs to every PC you sign in on and to the website, free. Switching from mRemoteNG shows the same synced host list.

  • No RDP or VNC

With Termius: Termius's plans list SSH, SFTP, Telnet, Mosh and serial connections, not RDP or VNC.

With RemoteAccessApp: Saved RDP and VNC connections in tabs, plus remote desktop to your Windows PCs, in the same app.

  • Serial on paid plans

With Termius: Its pricing page doesn't include serial connections in the free Starter plan.

With RemoteAccessApp: Serial (COM port) connections for console cables are part of the free app.

More reasons to switch

  • Your host list syncs free

Hosts follow your account to every PC you sign in on and to the website. Passwords stay on your PC, or sync end-to-end encrypted with Pro.

  • RDP, VNC and remote desktop

Saved RDP and VNC connections in tabs, and remote control of your Windows PCs through any router. RDP and VNC manager.

  • Upload to many servers

Send the same files to several servers at once, each into its own folder, or stream between two servers with resume and verify. Switching from Cyberduck covers uploads to many servers in more detail.

  • Scripts on many hosts

Run a saved script on many SSH hosts at once with each one's output and exit code, or add startup scripts.

  • SSH in any browser

No app to install on the device you're holding: saved SSH hosts open in a terminal at remoteaccessapp.com. The same browser terminal comes up in switching from KiTTY.

What carries over, what doesn't and tips for each kind of tool are in the switching guide.

  1. Step 1: Install RemoteAccessApp and sign in

Download the free installer for Windows 10 or 11 and choose the Console. It installs without administrator rights. Create a free account if you don't have one.

  2. Step 2: Bring your hosts across

On the Connections tab, Import from this PC… finds hosts in your SSH config file, saved .rdp files and Windows' recent Remote Desktop connections, and Import from file… reads a CSV file (there's a template to fill in). Add the rest by hand: address, port, user name and protocol. Your Termius setup stays as it is.

  3. Step 3: Import your keys

Import your private keys for key sign-in: OpenSSH, PEM and PuTTY .ppk keys are read, passphrase-protected ones included. Passwords are never imported: you're asked for each one the first time, and can save it encrypted on your PC.

  4. Step 4: Check each server's key and connect

The first time you connect, compare the host key fingerprint with the one you expect and trust it. A server whose key changes later is refused with a warning.

  5. Step 5: Open them anywhere

Sign in on your other PCs, or at remoteaccessapp.com in a browser, and your saved SSH hosts are there. Browser access.
