What's new in 0.12.56

New

  • Sending files, browsing a PC's files and clipboard sync are now free with a free account.
  • Restarts, Windows updates and saved scripts on many PCs at once are now free.
  • Folders in Hosts can be nested, moved, renamed and filled from a right-click menu, and your PCs can go in folders too.
  • Right-click a session tab and pick Duplicate (or press Ctrl+Shift+D) to open another tab to the same host.
  • If an SSH session drops, it tries again by itself after 5 s, 10 s, then every 30 s, with a countdown. If the password is wrong, you can type the new one right there and save it.
  • Each host shows where its sign-in comes from: the vault, the host itself, a key file, or asks each time.
  • Run a command shows your saved scripts straight away, with search and a group filter.
  • Scripts show their type (.ps1, .bat, .sh…) and can be filtered and grouped. Scripts that can't run on the PC or server you're on are hidden, with a Show link.
  • Management, Teams, Windows tools and Activity are together in one place, with free tabs first.
  • The sidebar can shrink to icons only, and live sessions now open in Connections.

Improved

  • Sessions always open as tabs; the tiles view is gone.
  • Adding a host: pick the protocol next to the address, and the folder you choose is kept.
  • A cleaner Teams page, Sessions start page and AI assistants page.
  • One right-click on a host or folder opens its menu, and the Your PCs list can be folded away.
  • Pro features are clearly marked with a PRO badge.
  • Bedtime is now part of Pro.

Fixed

  • The maximize button sometimes showed the wrong state or disappeared on small windows.
  • Help search didn't always put the best article first.

Installed apps update themselves: the Console offers new versions, and the Agent never updates while someone is connected.

Every version's changes
Works on
Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit

Everything included, nothing else to install

Just for you, no admin (IT: /ALLUSERS for every user)
Updates
Signed and checked before they install

Install, open, connect - no account needed

  1. Install

Run RemoteAccessApp-Setup. It installs just for you: no admin rights, no questions. You get both the Agent and the Console.

  2. Open it

It opens on Home, no sign-in. On the left is this PC's 8-digit code: read it to the person helping you, then click Allow when they connect.

  3. Connect

To help someone, type their code under “Connect to a PC”. They click Allow. The PC is kept in Recent PCs, so you can reconnect later.

An account is optional. Sign in (free) when you want your own PCs in one list, on your phone or in any browser, more saved PCs and your settings on every computer. Then choose “Set up this PC”, or type the 6-digit setup code from Add a PC on your dashboard.

Two parts, one installer

Install the Agent on the PCs you'll reach and the Console on your own - or both on one PC.

RemoteAccessApp Agent

On the PCs you want to reach
Always free
  • Shows this PC's code to read out when you need help
  • Asks the person there to allow each connection - nothing is shown until they do
  • Unattended access for your own PCs, turned on at the PC with their agreement
  • A session banner the whole time you're connected, with a chat button
  • View-only and End session are always one click away for them

RemoteAccessApp Console

On your own PC
Free and Pro
  • Connect with a code, no account needed, and reconnect later from Recent PCs
  • Live sessions side by side, with a grid and Mirror input
  • Run Command Prompt or PowerShell on a PC - or one command on many
  • SSH, SFTP, FTP, RDP and VNC in tabs, with a command sent to every SSH session
  • Chat, files, clipboard, sound and every monitor (some with Pro)
  • MCP Desktop Connection for AI assistants like Claude Code, with a page that shows and stops what they do (Pro)

Free covers 5 PCs and 5 saved hosts, 3 open at once. Compare Free and Pro

Every download is checked against RemoteAccessApp's signed release before it's handed to you, and installed apps only accept updates signed with the same key.
