Switch from Cyberduck
Switch from Cyberduck: files, terminals and a host list that syncs
Cyberduck is a file browser for servers and cloud storage. It has no SSH terminal, and sharing your bookmarks between computers, according to its docs, means uploading the bookmarks folder to cloud storage and creating a symbolic link to it.
RemoteAccessApp keeps SSH tabs and SFTP and FTP file managers in one Windows app, with server-to-server copies, uploads to many servers at once, and a host list that syncs to your account.
- SSH in the same app
- Upload to many servers
- Host list syncs
Fed up with Cyberduck? Here's what changes
No terminal
With Cyberduck: Cyberduck is a server and cloud storage browser; running commands means a separate SSH client.
With RemoteAccessApp: SSH terminal tabs, saved scripts on many hosts and one command sent to every server, next to your file managers. Switching from Tabby covers the same terminal tabs.
Bookmark sync by symbolic link
With Cyberduck: Cyberduck's docs say you share bookmarks by uploading the Bookmarks folder to cloud storage and creating a symbolic link, which doesn't work with the App Store version.
With RemoteAccessApp: Your host list syncs to your account and appears on every PC you sign in on and on the website.
One server at a time
With Cyberduck: Deploying the same files to several servers means repeating the upload for each.
With RemoteAccessApp: Upload to many servers at once, each into its own folder, with each server's progress.
More reasons to switch
Resume and verify
Automatic retries continue where they stopped on SFTP, and Verify compares SHA-256 checksums where both sides can. Switching from FileZilla covers resume and verify too.
RDP and VNC
Saved RDP and VNC connections in tabs.
Your PCs
Remote desktop to your Windows PCs through any router.

Cyberduck facts are from its official website and documentation as of October 2026; products change. RemoteAccessApp facts are for the current version. * Not listed: we didn't find it on Cyberduck's official site when we checked, which doesn't mean it can't be done.
Switch from Cyberduck if
- You want terminals and file managers in one app. Going beyond ssh in Windows Terminal covers the terminal side.
- You deploy the same files to several servers.
- You want your hosts on every PC without symbolic links.

What carries over, what doesn't and tips for each kind of tool are in the switching guide.
Step 1: Install RemoteAccessApp and sign in
Download the free installer for Windows 10 or 11 and choose the Console. It installs without administrator rights. Create a free account if you don't have one.
Step 2: Bring your hosts across
On the Connections tab, Import from this PC… finds hosts in your SSH config file, saved .rdp files and Windows' recent Remote Desktop connections, and Import from file… reads a CSV file (there's a template to fill in). Add the rest by hand: address, port, user name and protocol. Your Cyberduck setup stays as it is.
Step 3: Import your keys
Import your private keys for key sign-in: OpenSSH, PEM and PuTTY .ppk keys are read, passphrase-protected ones included. Passwords are never imported: you're asked for each one the first time, and can save it encrypted on your PC.
Step 4: Check each server's key and connect
The first time you connect, compare the host key fingerprint with the one you expect and trust it. A server whose key changes later is refused with a warning.
Step 5: Upload to many servers
Select files and choose Upload to servers… (Ctrl+Shift+U), tick the servers and confirm. Server-to-server transfers.
