Switch from Supremo

Switch from Supremo: free for professional use, every day

Supremo's website asks you to subscribe to use it without restrictions, and offers free use only for non-professional, non-continuous use. If remote access is part of your work, that's the line you'll cross.

RemoteAccessApp's free plan is for personal and professional use, every day: 5 Windows PCs and 5 saved hosts, with unattended access, browser access, and SSH, SFTP, RDP and VNC.

  • Free for professional use
  • Browser and phone access
  • Server tools included

Fed up with Supremo? Here's what changes

  • Free only for non-professional use

With Supremo: Supremo's site says free use is for non-professional and/or non-continuous use, and asks you to subscribe to use it without restrictions.

With RemoteAccessApp: RemoteAccessApp's free plan covers personal and commercial use for 5 PCs, as often as you like. Leaving TeamViewer covers the same work-use question.

  • Another app for your servers

With Supremo: If you also look after Linux servers or network gear, you need separate SSH and SFTP tools next to it.

With RemoteAccessApp: SSH tabs, SFTP and FTP file managers, server-to-server copies, RDP and VNC in the same app, free. Switching from WinSCP explains how server-to-server copies work.

  • One PC at a time

With Supremo: Checking several PCs means opening them one after another.

With RemoteAccessApp: Tabs and a live grid, 3 open at once on the free plan, and one command run on many PCs.

What carries over, what doesn't and tips for each kind of tool are in the switching guide.

  1. Step 1: Create a free RemoteAccessApp account

Sign up with your email. No card is needed, and the free plan covers 5 PCs.

  2. Step 2: Install RemoteAccessApp on each PC you want to reach

Download the installer, choose Set up this PC and sign in, or type the 6-digit setup code from Add a PC on your dashboard. It installs without administrator rights, next to Supremo.

  3. Step 3: Turn on unattended access on your own PCs

If nobody will be at a PC when you connect, switch on unattended access at that PC (right-click the RemoteAccessApp icon in the taskbar tray). How to do it safely.

  4. Step 4: Connect from the app or a browser

Open the RemoteAccessApp Console on your own PC, or sign in at remoteaccessapp.com in any browser, and try each PC while you still have the old tool as a fallback.

  5. Step 5: Remove what you no longer use

Once every PC works in RemoteAccessApp, remove the tools you don't need from Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
