Getting started

Use it without an account, sign in later

RemoteAccessApp works without an account. How to get started with a code, what a free account adds, and how signing in later keeps your Recent PCs.

You don't need an account to use RemoteAccessApp. Install it, open it, and it starts on Home: your PC's code on the left, a box for someone else's code on the right.

Without an account

  • Get help: read your PC's one-time code to the person helping you, then click Allow.
  • Help someone: type their code under Connect to a PC.
  • Reconnect later from Recent PCs.
  • Unattended access is off until you turn it on at your PC (the switch on Home). Until then, someone at the PC clicks Allow for every connection. A permanent password for your PC is another way to reach it from a new computer with nobody there.
  • If the PC sends you a message, it shows at the top of the session: a note from RemoteAccessApp (for example when an admin window is in front and your mouse and keyboard can't reach it), or what the person at the PC typed. Click Sign in free to chat back to reply.
  • Anything that needs an account shows a small lock. Click it to sign in free and use it.

Devices shows the PCs you saved, ready to reconnect in one click. Pages that need an account, like Teams, show a Sign in button instead.

A PC someone added to their account with a setup code works a little differently: Home says whose account it's in, whether it's online and who connected recently, with a Leave this account button. It still shows its own code for getting help, but it can't connect to other PCs: the code box, Recent PCs, Devices and Connections are hidden until you sign in or leave that account.

What a free account adds

  • Up to 5 of your own PCs in your account, reachable from anywhere, plus 5 saved PCs. Connect to your first PC shows how to add one with a setup code.
  • Your PCs from a phone or any web browser at remoteaccessapp.com.
  • Your saved PCs and hosts on every computer you sign in on.
  • 3 sessions open at once, and chat both ways.
  • File transfer and clipboard sync with your PCs.
  • All of Connections: SSH, SFTP, FTP, RDP, VNC, serial consoles, web panels, scripts, the server dashboard, containers and Type text, with 5 saved connections.

Pro removes the limits and adds 45 or 60 fps, sound, every monitor, Bedtime and Teams. Free, Pro and billing lists the limits and how billing works.

Sign in later

  1. Click Sign in at the top right of RemoteAccessApp. A sign-in window opens over Home.
  2. Choose Continue with Google or Continue with GitHub, or use your email and password. New here? Choose Create a free account.
  3. Closing the window takes you back to where you were.

When you sign in, nothing is lost: your Recent PCs move into your account, and RemoteAccessApp offers to add this PC to your account too. You choose.

Still stuck? Email [email protected] with your app version (Settings, About) and what you were trying to do. In the app, Help, Contact support fills that in.
