Switch from NinjaOne

Switch from NinjaOne when you need remote access, not a whole RMM

NinjaOne is a paid endpoint management platform with a 14-day trial, and its FAQ says you can't start a session from a phone's browser. If you mainly need to reach and fix your PCs, you're paying for a lot you won't use.

RemoteAccessApp focuses on remote access: remote control with consent, commands and scripts on many PCs, Windows tools, and SSH, SFTP, RDP and VNC, free for 5 Windows PCs.

  • Free for 5 PCs
  • Scripts on many PCs
  • SSH and SFTP included

Fed up with NinjaOne? Here's what changes

  • Paid only, after a trial

With NinjaOne: NinjaOne is a paid platform with a 14-day free trial.

With RemoteAccessApp: RemoteAccessApp is free for 5 PCs and 5 saved hosts, for personal and commercial use.

  • No sessions from a phone browser

With NinjaOne: NinjaOne Remote's FAQ says launching sessions from a mobile browser isn't supported.

With RemoteAccessApp: Open your PCs from your phone's browser, with touch controls, on the free plan.

  • A whole RMM to roll out

With NinjaOne: If you mainly need to reach and fix a few PCs, a full endpoint management platform is a lot to deploy and learn.

With RemoteAccessApp: Install, sign in, connect: remote control, commands and Windows tools from one Devices page. There's no appliance or hosted site to set up, as the BeyondTrust comparison explains.

More reasons to switch

  • Free to start

5 PCs and 5 saved hosts, 3 open at once, for personal and commercial use. No card and no trial clock. There's no server to host either, since the relay is run for you, as switching from MeshCentral shows.

  • Remote access first

Connect in the app or a browser, with consent at the PC and a banner during every session. If nobody answers the Allow prompt, the request is denied; switching from Action1 goes into why that matters.

  • Scripts and updates on many PCs

Tag PCs, then run a saved script, restart or install Windows updates on many at once for free. With Pro, update apps with winget or run it all on a schedule. The exact command shows first.

  • Servers too

SSH terminal tabs, SFTP and FTP file managers, server-to-server copies, and saved RDP and VNC connections.

  • Browser access on phones

Open your PCs from a phone's browser with touch controls. On a computer there's no viewer to download first either, which switching from N-able covers in more detail.

Switch from NinjaOne in 2 minutes

What carries over, what doesn't and tips for each kind of tool are in the switching guide.

  1. Step 1: Create a free RemoteAccessApp account

Sign up with your email. No card is needed, and the free plan covers 5 PCs.

  2. Step 2: Install RemoteAccessApp on each PC you want to reach

Download the installer, choose Set up this PC and sign in, or type the 6-digit setup code from Add a PC on your dashboard. It installs without administrator rights, next to NinjaOne.

  3. Step 3: Turn on unattended access on your own PCs

If nobody will be at a PC when you connect, switch on unattended access at that PC (right-click the RemoteAccessApp icon in the taskbar tray). How to do it safely.

  4. Step 4: Connect from the app or a browser

Open the RemoteAccessApp Console on your own PC, or sign in at remoteaccessapp.com in any browser, and try each PC while you still have the old tool as a fallback.

  5. Step 5: Group your PCs

Tag your PCs and run the scripts and Windows updates you need on many PCs at once from the website's dashboard, and with Pro, put them on a schedule. It's the same setup described in switching from Atera.
