Switch from Zoho Assist: support, unattended access and servers in one app

Beyond its free plan, Zoho Assist splits its paid editions into remote support and unattended access, and keeps remote script execution for a higher edition.

The free plan covers 5 Windows PCs and 5 saved hosts for personal and work use, with unattended access, a consent banner, commands on many PCs, and SSH, SFTP, RDP and VNC.

  • Free for 5 PCs and 5 hosts
  • SSH, SFTP, RDP and VNC
  • A banner on every session

Fed up with Zoho Assist? Here's what changes

  • Support and unattended sold separately

With Zoho Assist: Beyond its free plan, Zoho sells remote support and unattended access as separate editions.

With RemoteAccessApp: One plan covers both: remote support with consent and unattended access, free for 5 PCs. Remote access is part of the same app, not a separate product, as the Atera comparison explains.

  • Scripts on a higher plan

With Zoho Assist: Its pricing page lists remote script execution in its Unattended Access Professional edition.

With RemoteAccessApp: Run one command on many PCs free, and saved SSH scripts on many servers.

  • Another app for your servers

With Zoho Assist: Remote support doesn't cover SSH and SFTP to your Linux servers.

With RemoteAccessApp: SSH tabs, SFTP and FTP file managers, server-to-server copies, RDP and VNC in the same app, free.

More reasons to switch

  • Servers in the same app

SSH terminal tabs with scripts on many servers, SFTP and FTP file managers, server-to-server copies, and saved RDP and VNC connections. SSH and SFTP client.

  • Commands on many PCs, free

Run one command on several PCs and see each one's output and exit code, or open PowerShell during a session. With Pro, scripts can run on a schedule too, as switching from Datto RMM shows.

  • Your own PCs from any browser

Sign in at remoteaccessapp.com on a phone, tablet or Mac and open your PCs, with touch controls. There's no server to host for any of it, which switching from MeshCentral explains.

  • A banner the person can act on

During every session it offers chat, view-only and quit, and it names an AI assistant when one is connected. Unless unattended access is on, nothing is shown until they click Allow, as switching from Action1 explains.

  • AI help (Pro)

An MCP server lets Claude Code work on your PCs and servers under the same consent rules. AI remote support.

Switch from Zoho Assist in 2 minutes

What carries over, what doesn't and tips for each kind of tool are in the switching guide.

  1. Step 1: Create a free RemoteAccessApp account

Sign up with your email. No card is needed, and the free plan covers 5 PCs.

  2. Step 2: Install RemoteAccessApp on each PC you want to reach

Download the installer, choose Set up this PC and sign in, or type the 6-digit setup code from Add a PC on your dashboard. It installs without administrator rights, next to Zoho Assist.

  3. Step 3: Turn on unattended access on your own PCs

If nobody will be at a PC when you connect, switch on unattended access at that PC (right-click the RemoteAccessApp icon in the taskbar tray). How to do it safely.

  4. Step 4: Connect from the app or a browser

Open the RemoteAccessApp Console on your own PC, or sign in at remoteaccessapp.com in any browser, and try each PC while you still have the old tool as a fallback.

  5. Step 5: Add your servers

On the Connections tab, add your SSH, SFTP, FTP, RDP and VNC hosts, or use Import from this PC… to bring in your SSH config and .rdp files. The free plan saves 5.
